Born a weird, skinny kid in Savannah, Georgia, Jeff (Jef) Peeples is now a weird, not as skinny adult living in Powder Springs, Georgia, with his wife, daughter, rat terrier, and a pretty cool collection of badges. His poetry and short stories have appeared in various journals in the United States and Australia. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor. His poetry website is at The Writeapalist.

The nickname “Hostile Therapist” was given out of love by a parent who recognized Jeff’s blunt way of expressing the truth.  Not one for fearing confrontation, he lovingly, but directly, guides the counselee to accept the hard face of pain. Actually, though, he’s a really nice guy.

Jeff has worked in the field of education for over thirty years and in the Christian counseling field for over twenty years. He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, the American School Counselors Association,  and The Anxiety and Depression Association of America.

Jeff Peeples specializes in individual and family therapy for children, adolescent, and adult males in the areas of mood and anxiety disorders, academic difficulties, and social and spiritual concerns through his private practice, SB Counseling.  If you are interested in setting up a consultation to explore therapy options, please contact him by email at

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
